The Digital Media Center at Johns Hopkins University
encourages students to "expand the sphere of possiblities that
are created when art and technology merge." The center is organized
to faciliate creativity, and includes a lab area, digital music
suite, and a video suite. The digital music suite contains a state-of-the
art composition, recording and editing system complete with synthesizers,
keyboards, effects processing and digital recording.
The video suite has a high-end professional editing
system able to digitize, edit, and create transitions, effects and
titles. After participating in prerequisite training, students can
check-out video cameras, light and sound kits, cables, and assorted
peripherals if they wish to work off-site.
The DMC
Gallery highlights the remarkable student work that has emerged
from the Center, and features a variety of mediums from photography
to music video.
For more information on the DMC and the work they
are doing to support faculty and students in the arts, spend some
time on the DMC web site.
